Business Horizons is in less than two weeks!

A lot of the classes I am taking this semester have aspects of personal branding such as creating a website and blog for Social Media Theory, and getting my resume perfected in Management Internships. This journey of personal branding has been challenging. The hardest part is figuring out what you want to do when you graduate. You ideally want to tailor your message and your branding to be the perfect candidate for your dream position. But what if you don’t know what that position is? So I’ve built a site that showcases my passions and I am excited to explore Business Horizons and the job market to find a position that meets my interests.

I’ve wanted to create a personal website for so long and it is exciting that I’m finally getting near the completion. I came up with the alias “monitormonkey” back when I was in middle school and have since carried it to all my social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, etc). I took on the challenge of creating my own template because I wanted to make something that was uniquely mine. The great thing about creating a website is that it can stand as a piece of your portfolio by itself. I hope that by the end, the planning and execution I put into this site will serve as a testament to my ability to create and maintain a brand.

Here are some pictures of the progression that I’ve gone through to get to this point!

This was the first sketch I had of a monkey with a monitor in it which I made back in 8th grade!

I created this about two years ago to make a less MS Paint-y rendition. I thought it was nice but it was a little too complicated. The banana in the bottom right was also an original concept at a logo.

Last but not least is where we are today! I decided to simply the money a little bit and made a more representative logo (and one that looked a little less like McDonalds). I was going to use this logo for the site but then I decided to have the site be a professional portfolio along with my design portfolio.

The rest of the site should be finished real soon, can’t wait for everyone to see it!
